Ostmakeriet on Rindö is a small-scale craft dairy in the Stockholm archipelago. The milk comes from Öster Grytinge Gård, where most of the cows’ feed is also grown.
The dairy goes beyond traditional cheese making, with varying different flavors. The latest experiment is ice cream made from whey, which is a residual product from cheese making. In the farm shop there are nice accessories that goes with the cheese such as jams, crackers and syrups as well as other handicraft products. During spring, summer and autumn, you can have a meal in the garden, or buy something to bring with you for the picnic in the archipelago.
Johan's Good Food Selection
“I think that on occasion you should go to Ostmakeriet out on Rindö. It is so small, sweet, artisanal and just such a fantastic example of how you want the food system to look like. Craft cheeses from local milk, stored in the unique microclimate in Rindö fortress. Archipelago and cheese in tender embrace.”
